Qigong and energy healing: a golden combination for managing and overcoming (high) sensitivity and burnout

If you’re sensitive person, maybe highly sensitive, or have a nervous system that’s easily overwhelmed, or if you’re experiencing burnout. Whatever name you it has. The symptoms are the same: you can feel quickly overwhelmed, overstimulated, and restless. You feel that you need a lot of rest. You don’t handle busy environments very well. Sometimes too much light, noise, or radiation is just too much. In my practice, I often help people with these kinds of issues. Energy healing and Qigong exercises, in particular, make a great combination. I teach people how to take good care of their own energy system so it doesn’t get overloaded all the time. Together, we figure out which exercises and methods are best suited to the specific complaints you experience. No two people are alike, so complaints, causes, and approaches differ for one person to the other. Qigong research, starting this year!

In 2026, I will begin my scientific research into how practising Qigong benefits mental health and can lead to individuation and self-development.  As there are currently no grants available, I will finance my research by teaching Qigong, mainly on a donation basis, in order to make Qigong accessible to everyone.  All your donations and shop sales will go towards funding the research. How did I get to where I am now with my work... following my own path is number one, but how do you do that?

  When people ask me what kind of work I do, I find that a sort of difficult question to answer. These days, I am expected to explain my mission in one sentence. (And to continue on that theme) I am supposed to have a website full of movement and promises, super fun social media posts, preferably with lots of photos of my amazingly photogenic pets.  Too often I sat down with a well-meaning coach and tried to explain that I have a business that is not focused on increasing profits, that the people I want to reach out to can actually read, and therefore don't need to be sent from one moving image to the next on my website, and that my social media posts are about what nature really looks like here in the Netherlands and I don't feel like or have time to photoshop my photos, because everyone does so.  So why do I occasionally talk to a coach, you may be wondering. Healing Qigong, healing the meridians, healing psychological and physical pain

 According to the over five-thousand year old Chinese medicine, our body consists of meridians, passages, or rivers. It is like our whole body is split into parts, a beautiful and super-complex puzzle of flowing and moving parts.  The meridians start at the top of our fingers, in our face and at the end of our toes. This is how the meridians connect with our environment, the earth and heaven.  Each meridian has its own function, is related to its organs and other parts of the body.  By practicing Healing Qigong we move our whole body in a special way. This special and natural way moves all meridians and invites them to open up. In our lives, we encounter all sorts of situations which challenge us, teach us and sometimes hurt us.
